FISH IN YOGURT SAUCE

It is important to see that in this recipe the fish is not overcooked, or it will disintegrate and be lost in the sauce.
Serves :

Preparation Time :
10 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Dredge the fish fillets in the flour and fry in 4 tablespoon of oil until browned on both sides. Remove and drain.
  • Add the rest of the oil to the pan and sauté the onion until lightly browned.
  • Add the cinnamon, cloves and turmeric and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Remove, add the yogurt, and puree in a blender to a smooth sauce. Add salt to taste.
  • Return the sauce to the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Carefully slide the fillets into the sauce so that they don't fall apart.
  • Cover and simmer only long enough to heat the fish through, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the chopped chillies and the ginger on top
  • Serve with Rice.

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 white fish fillets, skin removed
  • Flour for dredging
  • 6 teaspoon IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • 150 ml plain yogurt
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 fresh green chilli finely chopped
  • 4 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger
