Preparation Method :
- Heat a pan with oil in low flame and add mustard seeds, coriander seeds, saunf, fenugreek seeds and dry chilies. Sauté until they change color and become crisp. Transfer to a plate.
- Combine roasted spices, dry chilies and coconut milk in a blender and grind to a fine paste.
- Then add curry leaves in a pan and when they crackle, add onions and sauté till it becomes translucent and add tomatoes and sauté until they become soft.
- Now add the spice paste, tamarind pulp and sufficient water and sauté till oil floats on the surface.
- Then add fish and salt, stir well. Cover and cook until fish becomes tender.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
INGREDIENTS
For Spice Paste:
- 3 teaspoons Coriander seeds
- 2 teaspoons Zeera (Cumin seeds)
- 10 black Peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon Saunf (Fennel seeds)
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon Fenugreek seeds
- 10 dried Red Chilies
- 100 grams Grated fresh Coconut
- 2 Onions, finely chopped
- 10 cloves Garlic
- 1 teaspoon IDHAYAM Sesame Oil
For Curry:
- 500 grams Fish fillet, cut into large slices
- 150 ml coconut milk
- 2 Onions, finely chopped
- 2 Tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Tamarind pulp
- 1 sprig Fresh Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons IDHAYAM Sesame Oil
