SHREDDED CHICKEN BALTI

Preparation Time :
30 minutes

Cooking Time :
40 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • In a food processor or liquidiser whiz together the chillies, garlic, ginger, onion and vinegar or lemon juice.
  • Mix with the chicken and leave in a cool place to marinate for at least 1 hour. Mix in the Balti spice mix.
  • Heat the ghee or oil in a Balti pan, wok or large frying pan over a medium to high heat.
  • Add the chicken and paste and stir fry for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Add the peppers and cook for a further 10 minutes, until the chicken is tender and cooked and the peppers have started to soften.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams chicken breast fillet, shredded into thin strips
  • 4 green chillies
  • 5 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 2.5 cm fresh root ginger, grated
  • 2 large onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon Balti spice mix
  • 50 ml sesame oil
  • 1 green and 1 red pepper, cored, deseeded and thinly sliced
