BALTI TIKKA MASALA

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a Balti pan, wok or large frying pan over a medium heat.
  • Add the onions and stir fry until golden brown - about 10 minutes.
  • Add the ginger and chicken and mix well. Stir in most of the Balti sauce and add the almonds, coconut milk paste, tomato puree and fenugreek. Bring to a simmer and slowly add the cream.
  • Simmer gently for 15 minutes, adding a little more Balti sauce if the mix becomes dry.
  • Serve, sprinkled with flaked almonds.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kilograms tandoori chicken, cut into cubes
  • 50 ml sesame oil
  • 4 large onions, finely chopped
  • 2.5 cm fresh root ginger, grated
  • 200 ml Balti sauce
  • 2 tablespoon ground almonds
  • 3 teaspoon coconut milk powder, mixed with water to a runny paste
  • 30 ml tomato puree
  • 2 tablespoon dried fenugreek
  • 200 ml single cream Flaked almonds
