BALTI ROGAN JOSH

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a Balti pan, wok or large frying pan over a medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 5 minutes until just starting to brown.
  • Add the chicken and stir fry for 10 minutes.
  • Add the tandoori paste, spices and red chilli and cook, stirring, for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the Balti sauce and tomato puree with the red pepper and beetroot. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Stir in the coriander and cook for a further 5 minutes. Serve sprinkled with a little more fresh coriander.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kilograms boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 50 ml sesame oil
  • 2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3 tablespoon tandoori paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch ground bay
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 red chilli, chopped
  • 300 ml Balti sauce
  • 50 ml tomato puree
  • 2 red pepper, deseeded and chopped
  • 100 grams fresh cooked beetroot, finely chopped
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
