ROOMALI ROTI

Preparation Method :

  • Sieve flour and add salt in a bowl.
  • Add milk and oil and mix well to form a crumbly mixture.
  • Add sufficient water to the mixture and knead well until the dough becomes elastic in nature.
  • Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 45 minutes.
  • Then knead the dough once again till smooth and divide it into 12-15 equal portions.
  • Place each portion on a board and with the use of rolling pin; roll them very thinly with adding flour at regular intervals. Stretch on all sides.
  • Heat a heavy cast iron kadhai (wok) in upside down (inverted) position. Grease the kadhai with oil and wipe it clean.
  • Spread out each roti on hot kadhai and cook both sides until tiny brown spots appear on the surface.
  • Fold and serve hot with kebabs, curries, dal or vegetables.

INGREDIENTS

  • 400 grams all-purpose (refined) flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 50 ml Milk
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons IDHAYAM Sesame oil
