KHAMEERI ROTI

Preparation Method :

Mix flour and water gradually, then knead into a tough dough. Cover with a damp cloth and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
Slowly sprinkle the dissolved yeast over the dough and keep kneading till the dough is smooth and not sticky. Cover with a damp cloth and keep aside for half an hour.
Divide the dough into 8-9 equal balls and dust with dry flour.
Press and flatten each ball into round discs. Stick the disc to the side of a hot tandoor and bake for about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a pair of tongs.
Place on a greased baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C / 375°F / Gas mark 5 for 3-5 minutes. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

250 grams wholewheat flour, sifted with salt
1 teaspoon yeast, fresh dissolved in half a cup of warm water
Ghee for greasing the baking tray
Refined flour to dust
Salt to taste
