BESUN KI ROTI

Preparation Method :

  • Sift the wholemeal and gram flours together into a large bowl. Stir in the salt, onion, fresh coriander and green chillies, and mix in the water. Knead to form a soft dough.
  • Cover and set aside for at least 20 minutes. Knead for 5 minutes. Divide into 8 equal portions.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll them out and cook over a medium heat in a heavy-based frying pan or a thawa, turn three times and lightly grease each side with the ghee. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams wholemeal flour (chapati or atta flour) 
  • 100 grams gram flour 
  • ½ teaspoon salt 
  • 1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh coriander
  • 3 green chillies, finely chopped and deseeded if desired
  • 150 ml water 
  • 2 teaspoons ghee
