Preparation Method :
- Combine all ingredients for chapati and knead gently with sufficient water to make smooth, soft dough.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll out each portion into a chapati or tortilla.
- Heat a griddle or tawa and cook the chapatis on both sides until they are half cooked. Remove and keep aside.
- Combine cheese with all the other ingredients except oil in a bowl.
- Place 4 chapatis on a board and add a tablespoon of the prepared stuffing on them.
- Apply oil on the edges and cover each one with a chapati and press together to seal the edges.
- Reheat the griddle and cook the stuffed parathas with applying light oil until small golden spots appear on both sides till golden. Cut them into slices.
- Serve hot with ketchup.
INGREDIENTS
For Chapati:
- 300 grams whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon IDHAYAM Sesame oil
- Salt to taste
For Stuffing:
- 200 grams grated processed cheese
- 2 teaspoons cumin seeds, roasted and powdered
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 2 large tomatoes, finely chopped
- 3 medium onions, finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons of fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
- 100 grams green capsicum finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- Black salt to taste
- 3 teaspoons IDHAYAM Sesame oil
