DHAL CHUTNEY PUDI

Preparation Time :

Preparation Method :

  • Roast coriander, cumin, tamarind, chilli powder and asafoetida with the oil.
  • Grind all the ingredients together in a mixer; this chutney tastes best when coarsely ground.
  • Prepare tadka with oil, mustard seeds, asafoetida, turmeric and curry leaves.
  • Allow the tadka to cool, add to the chutney, mix well and store in an airtight container.

INGREDIENTS

  • 125 grams Grated dry coconut, Dry roasted 
  • 120 grams Groundnuts, Dry roasted 
  • 40 grams sesame seeds, Dry roasted 
  • 500 grams Channa dhal, Dry roasted 
  • 125 grams Urad dhal, Dry roasted 
  • 2 tablespoon coriander 
  • 1 tablespoon cumin 
  • ½ teaspoon Asafoetida 
  • 2 fistfuls Curry leaves 
  • 2 tablespoon Chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking Oil
  • Tamarind size of one small lime
  • Jaggery size of one small lime 
  • Salt to taste

Tadka 

  • ½ teaspoon Asafoetida 
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric
  • 2 tablespoon heated Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds 
  • Fistful of curry leaves
