CURRY LEAVES POWDER

Mix curry leaves with sesame oil and Serve as an acompaniment with idlies and dosas.
Makes :
1 Small Jar

Preparation Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the heavy bottomed pan and dry-fry the curry leaves, till the water content on the leaves are fully dried.
  • Transfer to a bowl and keep aside.
  • In the same kadai, dry-fry the red chillies, toor dhal, asafoetida, salt and garlic one by one in low flame till it is roasted.
  • Allow it to come down to room temperature.
  • Grind altogether in a blender or mixer to a very fine powder.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams curry leaves
  • 200 grams Toor dhal
  • 50 grams red chillies
  • 2 tablespoons Asafoetida Powder
  • 50 grams of Garlic with peel, crushed and sun-dried
  • Salt to taste
