VAZHAKAI PURATTIATHU (MASHED PLANTAIN)

Preparation Method :

  • Grind the cumin seeds, green chilli with turmeric powder and onion, crush the grated coconut and mix all together.
  • Place the ground masala in the middle of the prepared plantain and cover up. Cook over slow fire.
  • Remove from heat when steam comes up and the masala is cooked. Mix well.
  • Fry mustard in hot oil. Add chopped onions and fry. Then add curry leaves dry chilli pieces and grated coconut.
  • When seasoned, mix in the prepared plantain and saute. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 125 grams grated coconut
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 500 grams plantain, Pared, diced, rinsed, cooked and mashed 
  • 4 button onions
  • 2 green chillies

Seasoning

  • 25 grams grated coconut
  • 2 tablespoon onion finely chopped 
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • A few curry leaves
  • 2 dry chillies cut into pieces
  • Salt to taste
