Preparation Method :

  • Cut all vegetables into pieces
  • Put all the chopped vegetables, lentils, water and salt in a pressure cooker. Cook for 2 whistles.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan, Add mustard seeds, fenugreek, dry chilli and wait for the mustard seeds to crackle.
  • Add onion, curry leaves and asafoetida, all the powdered spices and salt. Saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add tomato cut in four pieces and a green chilli. Add tamarind paste
  • Open the pressure cooker and add the masala into the cooked vegetables and cook for 5 minutes.

  • 100 grams snake gourd, skin scraped and seeds removed
  • 100 grams cucumber, peeled and seeds removed
  • 2 carrots, small
  • 6 runner beans
  • 2 drumsticks, full length scraped
  • 1 Aubergine
  • 2 raw banana, peeled
  • 100 grams yam
  • 100 grams okra
  • 5 medium sized tomatoes
  • 5 medium sized onions
  • 2 Potatoes
  • 100 grams yellow split lentils
  • 2 teaspoon tamarind paste
  • 2 green chilies
  • 2 tablespoon curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoon coriander leaves
  • 3 tablespoon sambar masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground red chillies
  • 1 teaspoon fenugreek
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 50 ml sesame oil
