LONG BEANS MEZHUKKU

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan, add mustard seeds, coconut slices, cumin seeds, curry leaves and red dried chilli.
  • Add onions, green chillies and saute for 2 minutes. Add beans, all powdered spices and salt. Mix well.
  • Add water. Cover and cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes, stir occasionally. When all the water has evaporated check that the beans are cooked.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 grams long green beans cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 red dried chilli
  • 50 grams fresh coconut slices
  • 2 onions, medium size, finely sliced
  • 2 green chilies cut in two lengthways
  • 2 tablespoon curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • Salt to taste
