BITTER GOURD (PAVAKKA) VATTICHULARTHIATHU

Preparation Method :

  • Mix the bitter gourd slices with chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Par cook with half a cup boiling water for about 2 minutes.
  • Fry the onion pieces in hot oil till crisp and golden brown in colour. Lift it out and drain.
  • Add a little more oil and fry the bitter-gourd. When crisp lift it out and drain.
  • Mix the onion and bitter-gourd together and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams bitter-gourd, seeds discarded and cut into thin round slices
  • 50 grams onion thin long slices
  • 1½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 100 ml Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
