URAD DHAL VADA

Preparation Method :

  • Soak urad dhal in water at least for an hour. Wash and drain completely
  • Grind to a coarse texture along with green chillies, cumin seeds without adding water
  • To this mixture add chopped onions, chopped ginger, curry leaves, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Mix to make crumbly textured dough.
  • Heat oil, roll like a golf ball and flatten between your palm.
  • Gently drop into hot oil.
  • Fry both sides in medium flame until it turns golden on all sides.
  • Drain excess oil by placing them over paper towel and serve hot with coconut chutney.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams urad dhal (lentil)
  • 5 green chillies
  • 2 big onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 3 pinch turmeric powder
  • A sprig of curry leaves chopped.
  • 1 inch ginger chopped.
  • Salt to taste
  • Sesame Oil
