STUFFED FISH

Preparation Method :

  • Chop green chillies, onions and ginger. Soak and crumble the bread. Mash the boiled potato, Heat 15 grams ghee or oil and saute the chopped ingredients.
  • Add the bread crumbs and mashed potato. Mix salt and vinegar to taste and cook dry and remove. When it is cold add one beaten egg, pepper powder and chilli powder.
  • Mix everything together and stuff inside the cleaned fish and seal with little beaten egg and American flour.
  • Make a few cuts on either side of the fish and smear with little red chillies and salt ground together. Wrap the fish in plantain leaf and tie it up. Pour oil in a skillet and place the fish packet in it and roast on both sides.
  • For the Gravy : Melt butter and saute the American flour in it.
  • Pour 1 cup of water and mix without lumps. Add all the ingredients and cook till it is fairly thick.
  • Strain and serve this as gravy for the fish.
  • Unwrap the leaf and take the fish out and roast it again, in the skillet and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Fish like pomfret which can be stuffed 
  • 8 -10 taste Green chillies 
  • 2 Onions (small red onions) 
  • 1 small piece Ginger 
  • 2 Boiled potatoes 
  • 1 slice Bread 
  • 1 Egg 
  • 2 teaspoon Vinegar 
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper powder 
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli powder

For the Gravy 

  • 250 grams Head and tail of the fish 
  • 1 teaspoon American flour 
  • ½ Tomato 
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder 
  • 4 Garlic flakes 
  • 1 Red onion 
  • 2 teaspoon Vinegar 
  • 15 grams Butter or dalda
