ONAKA MEEN VEVICHATHU

Preparation Method :

  • Clean the salted-fish and cut into 1" cubes.
  • Soak in water for 4 to 5 hours for the salt to be removed.
  • Remove from water and drain well.
  • To this add the cooked coconut pieces along with the water in which it was cooked.
  • Put in the cut ginger, garlic and green chillies along with chilly and turmeric powders, curry leaves and oil.
  • Cook for 15 minutes over high flame and then simmer on low flame for 30 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Coconut
  • 100 grams Kokum
  • 5 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 100 grams Garlic              
  • 50 grams Green chillies
  • 5 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 4 tablespoons Chilli powder
  • 4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 150 ml Sesame Oil
