MASALA POMFRET

Preparation Method :

  • Grind the Dry chillies, pepper, cummin seed, fenugreek and mustard, turmeric, salt, small onions, garlic flakes, Ginger very finely and smear on the fish and keep it for at least 2 hours.
  • Heat oil and saute the onion, green chillies, ginger. Add tomato and fry till its water is absorbed. Mix the remaining ingredients and stuff inside the fish.
  • To prevent the stuffing coming out apply beaten egg-white at the opening.
  • Add little oil in a skillet and fry the fish on both sides, over medium fire. Serve it hot with chappaties.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams One promfret, cleaned and a few cuts made here and there 

Masala for smearing

  • 9 Dry chillies 
  • ⅛ teaspoon Pepper 
  • ⅛ teaspoon each Cummin seed, fenugreek and mustard 
  • ¼ Turmeric 
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 Small onions 
  • 4 Garlic flakes 
  • ½ inch sq. piece Ginger 

Masala for stuffing

  • 30 ml Cooking Oil
  • 100 grams Onion sliced long 
  • ½ teaspoon Green Chillies chopped 
  • ¼ teaspoon Ginger chopped 
  • 2 dessert spoon Tomato chopped 
  • ½ teaspoon Vinegar 
  • Salt to taste
  • ⅛ teaspoon Sugar
