FISH PAPPAS WITHOUT COCONUT MILK

Preparation Method :

  • Grind the coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, garlic flakes, and fenugreek finely.
  • Heat oil and fry mustard. As it splutters add the onion, ginger, garlic, and green chillies and saute.
  • Add the ground paste and fry over low heat. When it is almost browned pour water. Add tamarind and salt.
  • When it boils add fish. Simmer till the gravy is fairly thick and the fish is soft. Remove from fire. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Fish sliced and gashed 
  • 1 dessert spoon Coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon Chilli powder 
  • 2 pinches Turmeric powder 
  • 2 pinches Pepper powder 
  • 2 Garlic flakes 
  • 3 pinches Fenugreek (broiled) 
  • 2 dessert spoon Cooking Oil (coconut oil is better) 
  • ¼ teaspoon Mustard 
  • 100 grams Onion sliced long 
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger sliced long 
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic sliced long 
  • 4 Green chillies split 
  • 1 stalk Curry leaves 
  • 300 ml Water
