FISH MASALA FRY

Preparation Method :

  • Grind the dry chillies, coriander, turmeric powder, mustard, pepper corns, garlic flakes, red onions and salt to a smooth paste and smear over the fish and keep for 2 hours.
  • Remove excess of paste from the fish before frying.
  • Heat oil and fry onion till light brown and drain. In the remaining oil fry the fish lightly on both sides over medium fire and drain.
  • Fry rest of the paste in the oil stirring constantly. Mix coconut milk. When it boils add the fried fish, onions and sliced ginger.
  • When the gravy thickens add vinegar. As the oil separates remove from fire and serve hot.
  • Place the whole fish covered with thick gravy in the middle of the serving plate and serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Fresh fish cut into large pieces and gashed or whole fish gashed on either side 
  • 12 Dry chillies 
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander 
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon Mustard 
  • 10 Pepper corns 
  • 5 Garlic flakes 
  • 50 grams Red onions 
  • Salt to taste
  • 75 ml IDHAYAM sesame Oil 
  • 200 grams Onions sliced long 
  • 125 ml Milk extracted from one cup of grated coconut 
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger sliced thin and long 
  • 1 teaspoon Vinegar
