FISH FOOGATH (MEEN KUDANJATHU)

Preparation Method :

  • Crush onion, ginger and green chillies. Mix these with chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, water and fish pieces. Boil the fish and cook dry. Remove, cool and flake the fish into fairly large pieces.
  • Heat oil and saute in the mustard, rice, coriander, onion, garlic, coconut, chillies and curry leaves.
  • When the colour changes add the flaked fish, and grated coconut and cook dry.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams Fish 
  • 1 Onion (medium) 
  • 1 sq. inch piece Ginger 
  • 6 Green chillies 
  • Sufficient chilli powder
  • Sufficient turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Sufficient water 
  • 30 ml Cooking Oil
  • ⅛ teaspoon Mustard 
  • ½ teaspoon Rice 
  • ¼ teaspoon Coriander 
  • 30 grams Onion sliced long 
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic sliced long 
  • 1 teaspoon Grated coconut 
  • 2 Dry chillies 
  • Few Curry leaves 
  • 150 grams Grated coconut
