FISH - BUTTERMILK CURRY

Preparation Method :

  • Grind Broiled chilli powder, Broiled coriander powder, Broiled fenugreek powder, turmeric powder, onions, garlic slices, ginger and take a little masala water.
  • Heat coconut oil and saute red onions. When it changes colour add the ground paste.
  • When sauted add the masala water, when absorbed add more water sufficient to cook the fish. Put tamarind pulp , curry leaves , salt and bring to boil.
  • Add the fish pieces when it boils briskly, allow it to simmer on slow fire. When it is half done mix finely ground grated coconut in butter milk and add to the curry.
  • Tilt the pan around to mix the ingredients and cook on very slow fire. When it gets fairly hot remove, Do not boil the curry after adding the butter-milk and coconut as it will curdle.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams Fish pieces 
  • 1½ dessert spoon Broiled chilli powder 
  • ½ dessert spoon Broiled coriander powder 
  • ⅛ Teaspoon Broiled fenugreek powder 
  • ⅛ Teaspoon Turmeric powder 
  • 5 Red onions
  • 9 Garlic slices
  • 1 small piece Ginger
  • 4 dessert spoon Coconut oil
  • 2 dessert spoon Red onions sliced round
  • Fish tamarind (kudampuly)
  • Curry leaves 1 stalk
  • Salt to taste
  • 200 ml Grated coconut Buttermilk (fairly thick)
