Preparation Method :

  • Boil the water with salt.
  • Pour the boiling water on to the rice flour mixed with sugar.
  • Knead well to make soft dough.
  • Make small marble (pebble) sized balls.
  • Boil the sweet toddy with the sugar.
  • Add the tiny rice balls and continue to boil for 10-15 minutes or till the rice balls are well cooked.
  • Lower the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Add a teaspoon of rice flour mixed with a tbsp of water to the sweet toddy.
  • Simmer for 5 more minutes.
  • Remove from fire and serve warm or chilled.

INGREDIENTS

For the syrup

  • 1 litre Sweet palm toddy
  • 300 grams Sugar

For the dumpling

  • 300 grams Rice flour
  • 500 ml Boiling water       
  • Sugar to taste  
  • Salt to taste
