CHAKKA KUMBUL

Preparation Method :

  • Chop the cleaned jackfruit and grind in a blender to a fine-(liquid) paste.
  • Add grated coconut to the jackfruit paste.
  • Melt the jaggery in water and strain.
  • Mix this into the jackfruit paste.
  • Add the flour and mix well.
  • Add the powdered cumin and cardamom and salt and mix well.
  • Make a cone with the leaf and fill in the above mixture.
  • Fold the flap of the leaf over and steam for about 30 minutes or till done.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams Ripe jack fruit
  • 250 grams Jaggery          
  • 100 grams Grated coconut          
  • 250 grams Rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seed
  • 5 Cardamoms
  • 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • 35 Edana leaves for making the kumbal
