VELLAI PANIYARAM

Preparation Method :

  • Soak the dhal and rice together for an hour. And grind to a smooth batter. Add salt.
  • Heat oil to a medium heat in a shallow pan.
  • Pour mixture slowly into sizzling hot oil, using a deep serving spoon.
  • Allow paniyaram to cook until it rises in the centre and a frill is formed around the edges.
  • Turn paniyaram over once.
  • Remove from pan. Drain oil on kitchen paper.
  • Serve hot with tomato chutney.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 grams raw rice
  • 100 grams urad dhal
  • Salt to taste
  • Peanut Oil for frying
