MANGANE

Preparation Method :

  • Cook dhal till half done. Add the sago and cook till sago turns transparent.
  • Now add the thin coconut juice to the cooking dhal and sago.
  • Cook on a slow fire. Add salt to taste.
  • Now add in the cashew nut and coconut pieces and allow it cook for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Then add in the grated jaggery and cardamom powder.
  • Finally stir in the thick coconut extract, stirring continuously for 2 minutes and remove from heat.
  • Garnish with chopped coconut pieces and can be served hot or cold as per our choice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams Chana dal (gram dal), soaked for about 2 - 3 hours
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut pieces, to garnish
  • 150 grams Jaggery
  • 800 ml Fresh coconut milk, 400 ml of thick coconut milk, 200 ml of thinner extract
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • 3 tablespoons Sabudana (sago), soaked for about 2 hours  
  • 1 tablespoon Cashew nut pieces
  • Salt to taste
