GUAVA CHEESE

Preparation Method :

  • Mix in lime juice with guavas and place them over a slow fire. Cover tightly and cook without adding water till the guavas turn very soft.
  • Remove from fire, mash to a paste and pass through a fine sieve and discard all the seeds.
  • Put measured water in sugar and prepare a syrup of one-thread consistency. Add in the guava puree and cook till the mixture sticks the back of the spoon.
  • Remove from fire and put in a shallow greased pan. Level the surface, cool and cut into small pieces. Wrap each piece in butter paper and store in airtight container.

INGREDIENTS

  • 550 grams ripe guavas, peeled and diced
  • 500 grams sugar
  • 30 grams mixed nuts like almonds, pistachios and charoll
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 500 ml water
  • Juice of 1 lime
