DOODHI HALWA

Preparation Method :

  • Squeeze to remove excess moisture.
  • Heat half of the ghee in a pan.
  • Saute the grated gourd. Stir well till the ghee starts leaving the sides. Remove from heat and keep aside.
  • Heat the remaining ghee, add mawa.
  • Cook over low flame till the mawa melts and then add sugar. Stirring continuously, add cardamom powder.
  • Add sauteed gourd to the mawa mixture Stir well. Cook till the moisture is dry
  • Garnish with silver leaf, chopped nuts and crumbled saffron, serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg tender Bottle gourd, washed, peeled, deseeded and grated  
  • 220 grams Ghee
  • 430 grams Sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 220 grams Mawa
  • 25 grams Pistachio
  • 3 tablespoon Almonds
  • Chandi ka warq
  • A pinch Saffron
