TRADITIONAL GOAN PRAWN CURRY

Preparation Time :
40 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Place this in a pot with half a cup of water and bring it to a boil.
  • Add in the onions, green chillies, tamarind, kokum, prawns and adjust seasoning with salt.
  • Simmer to low flame for about 10-12 minutes or until the prawns are cooked through.
  • When the gravy starts to thicken, remove from the heat and serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams Prawns, Marinated with salt
  • 50 grams onions sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Tamarind juice
  • 6-9 Dried red chillies
  • 2-4 Slit green chillies
  • 3-5 Kokum
  • Salt to taste

Ground to Paste

  • 1 tablespoon Garlic cloves
  • 150 grams Grated coconut
  • 2 tablespoon ginger, peeled
  • 2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander seeds
  • 2 teaspoon Black peppercorns
