PRAWN BALCHAO

Preparation Method :

  • Apply salt and turmeric on prawns. Heat the pan with oil and fry the onions to a light golden colour.
  • Add the prawns and the remaining ingredients and cook till tender and dry. Adjust seasoning with chillies and salt. Serve hot with rice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 550 grams prawns, cleaned, washed and drained
  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • 4 green chillies, slitted
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 225 grams onions, finely chopped

Spice Paste

  • 6-8 flakes garlic
  • 1-inch piece ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 10-12 peppercorns
  • 3 tablespoon vinegar
  • Few sprigs curry leaves
  • Red chillies, to taste
