PRAWN AND CURD CURRY

Preparation Method :

  • Marinate the prawns with salt and turmeric powder for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat the oil, add in the onions and curry leaves and cook till soft.
  • Add the ground paste and continue cooking for about 8-10 minutes or until the oil separates. Add in the prawns.
  • Stir in the well-beaten curd, when the mixture turns dry. Cook till the prawns are tender and gravy turns thick. Serve with boiled rice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg prawns, cleaned, washed and drained
  • 50 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 25 grams curd, blended with ½ cup of water
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • A few curry leaves

Ground to Paste

  • 90 grams shredded coconut
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 10-12 peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 4 green chillies, slitted
  • ½ inch piece ginger
  • Red chillies, to taste
