BEEF PICKLE

Makes :
A jar

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
15 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Rub the beef with salt and keep under a heavy weight for a day.
  • Wash the mutton again in vinegar and rub the slices on both the sides with ground masala paste.
  • Place the slices in layers in a jar. Sprinkle each layer with ginger, garlic and peppercorns.
  • Pour sufficient vinegar to cover the whole. Shake the jar from time to time. Within a week it will be ready. Deep fry the slices till crisp while serving.

INGREDIENTS

  • 550 grams beef, washed with vinegar, prick with fork
  • 500 ml vinegar
  • 12 peppercorns, ground to coarse powder
  • 6 flakes garlic, finely chopped
  • 1-inch piece ginger, finely chopped
  • Salt, to taste

Masala Paste

  • Red chillies, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
