SHRIMP COOKED WITH GREEN MANGOES

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a heavy pan and drop in the cumin and dried red chillies. When the seeds crackle, add the onions and stir them on medium heat till they are soft.
  • Add the ginger and garlic, stir for a couple of minutes to soften them and add the shrimp, green mango, chillies, turmeric powder and some salt. Toss till the shrimp are pink.
  • Pour in 2 cups of water with the sugar and cook for about 10-12 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Shrimp, cleaned, washed, rub with a bit of salt and keep aside
  • 125 grams Green mangoes, peeled and diced  
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2-3 Dried red chillies
  • 75 grams Chopped onions
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped garlic
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped ginger
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped fresh chillies
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • A pinch Sugar
  • Salt to taste
