Preparation Method :
- Apply salt and turmeric powder on the fish slices. Set aside for about 15-20 minutes then fry it lightly.
- Heat the oil and fry the spice paste, add water from time to time till a nice aroma comes out of the mixture.
- Pour in 3 cups water and cocums and bring to a boil.
- Adjust seasoning with chilli and salt, place the slices of fish in it and cook till the fish is done and gravy thickens lightly.
- Decorate with coriander leaves and Serve.
INGREDIENTS
- 500 grams pomfret, cleaned, washed and sliced
- A few curry leaves
- 4-5 green chillies, slitted
- 50 ml Cooking oil
- 10-12 cashew nuts
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 cocums
Spice Paste, dry roasted and ground to fine paste
- 100 grams shredded coconut
- 150 grams onion
- 2 tablespoons of coriander
- 2 tablespoons of poppy seeds
- 4-6 flakes garlic
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
- Red chillies, to taste
- 1 lime-sized ball of tamarind
