POMFRET CALDIN

Preparation Method :

  • Grind the coconut and extract the milk. Keep it aside.
  • Grind all the masala ingredients to a fine paste.
  • Take a pan add oil and sauté onions till they turn pink.
  • Simmer to low flame and add in the ground masala and fry it for about 3 - 5 minutes.
  • Add in the extract of coconut juice, stirring constantly.
  • When the curry boils, add in the sliced fish and simmer for around 5 minutes or until the fish is cooked.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Pomfret, cleaned and sliced into steaks
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 350 grams Coconut, grated  
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil

Masala

  • 2 tablespoon Coriander seeds
  • 6 Peppercorns
  • ½ inch Cinnamon  
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 2 Cloves
  • 4 flakes Garlic
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Tamarind
  • 4 Red chilies
