GOAN MASALA STUFFED MACKEREL

30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Clean and rinse the Mackerels and pat dry. Cut along the sides of the bones from head to tail to open like a pocket for the filling. Set aside.
  • Blend all the ingredients for the stuffing to a smooth paste.
  • Fill each fish with a little paste on either side of the bone.
  • Brush with a little oil and grill or broil, gently turning once, until both sides are brown.
  • Garnish with lime and tomato slices.
  • Serve with rice or chapatti.

INGREDIENTS

  • 5 medium Mackerels
  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil for basting
  •  Lemon and sliced tomato for garnish
  • Spice paste (stuffing)
  • 6 large cloves of garlic
  • 1 inch ginger sliced
  • 2 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 2 teaspoon hot chilli powder
  • 5 tablespoon vinegar
  • 4tablespoon coconut powder
  • 5 tablespoon minced coriander leaves
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt to taste
