FISH IN A TURMERIC INFUSED COCONUT SAUCE

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a pan, add in the ground ginger and garlic and the chopped green chillies. Stir them around in the oil for a minute.
  • Add in the onions, stir till they start to colour, add in the tomatoes and cook till mushy.
  • Add in the turmeric powder, stir in the coconut milk and adjust seasoning with salt.
  • Finally add in the pomfret pieces. Simmer to low flame for about 10-12 minutes or until the fish is cooked. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Pomfrets, sliced
  • 300ml Coconut milk
  • 75 grams Chopped onions
  • 50 grams Chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 1½ teaspoon Ginger ground to a paste
  • 1½ teaspoon Garlic ground to a paste
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped green chillies
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
