FISH CALDINE

Preparation Method :

  • Apply salt and turmeric on fish slices and set aside for about 15-20 minutes. Fry lightly. Heat the oil and fry onions to a light golden colour.
  • Add the spices and fry till a nice aroma comes out of it. Put in the fish, cover with water and cook till the fish is almost done.
  • Put in the chillies and vegetable and tamarind juice. When the fish is cooked and the gravy quite thick remove from fire.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg, fish cleaned, washed and sliced.
  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • 100 grams shredded coconut
  • 150 grams ladies fingers, cut into 2-inch pieces, fried in oil till crisp.
  • 150 grams onions, sliced
  • 2-3 green chillies, slitted
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 50 ml tamarind juice
  • ½ teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 12 peppercorns
  • 4-6 flakes garlic
  • Red chillies, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
