CHICKEN XACUTTI

Preparation Method :

  • Slice half of the onions, few onion as rings for garnish and finely chop the rest.
  • Roast the coconut in a frying pan with sliced onions till it is lightly brown.
  • Cool the mixture and grind to a thick paste.
  • Roast all spices with chopped ginger and garlic, Musoorie chillies, green chillies on low flame.
  • Grind all the spices to a fine paste.
  • Take a pan and heat the oil. Fry some chopped onion till transparent. Now add the chicken, cover the pan and allow to cook for some time.
  • Add the spiced ground paste and stir well into the chicken. Simmer to low flame and add in the thick ground coconut paste. Add lime juice and salt.
  • Garnish with onion rings and chopped green coriander.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 kg Chicken, Wash and cut into medium pieces, Marinate with salt  
  • 500 grams Onion, Chopped    
  • 25 grams Mussorie chillies (button chillies)
  • 2 Coconut, grated    
  • 250 ml IDHAYAM sesame Oil     
  • 1 teaspoon Green chillies, Chopped        
  • 5 grams Dagadful ( Blackstone flower)    
  • A pinch of Nutmeg     
  • ½ teaspoon Methi    
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds    
  • 9 Elaichi
  • 100 grams Ginger, Chopped    
  • 100 grams Garlic, Chopped        
  • ¼ teaspoon Patri    
  • 100 grams Dry coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Poppy seeds    
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper corn    
  • 1 teaspoon Sweet cumin (badishap)    
  • 4 inch piece Cinnamon    
  • 1 tablespoon Cloves    
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder    
  • 200 grams Green coriander, Chopped    
  • 2 tablespoon Lime juice    
  • Salt to taste
