SANNAS

Preparation Method :

  • Grind the rice and coconut finely with little toddy vinegar.
  • Mix the ground paste of rice and coconut with salt, sugar and toddy till the batter is thick.
  • Allow to stand in a warm place for about 3 hours so that it will start fermenting.
  • Then heat the steaming vessel with little water and pour the batter into small flat moulds. Steam till the sannas are cooked. Serve hot with black tea.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams Parboiled rice, soaked
  • 45 grams Sugar         
  • 75 grams Coconut, grated    
  • 500 ml Toddy vinegar    
  • Salt to taste
