RAVA PONGAL

Rava Pongal is quite an irresistible dish you should not take for granted! The only thing you must do is to mix all the ingredients; cumin seeds, curry leaves, moong dal, water, minced ginger and keep it aside! Looking at the instructions, you must mix them all to satisfy your taste!

10 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Dry-roast the moong dal,boil and keep it aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cashew nuts.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed vessel,add ghee and when the ghee melts, add cumin seeds,pepper,ginger and curry leaves and allow the pepper to splutter.
  • Add water and allow it to boil.
  • Add rava and salt and stir continuously till the rava is tender.
  • Add moong dal and cashew nuts and mix well.
  • Serve this delicious rava pongal with sambhar.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 grams of Rava (semolina/sooji)
  • 50 grams of moong dal
  • 50 grams  of cashew nuts
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 1 tablespoon of minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon of whole black pepper
  • 2 teaspoon  of cumin seeds
  • 50 grams of ghee
  • 750 ml  of water
  • Salt to taste
