AKKARAVADISAL

Preparation Method :

  • Wash the rice and moongdal and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  • Fry the cashew nuts in ghee till it turns golden colour. Keep it aside.
  • In a heavy bottomed kadai, add the rice and moong dal. Fry for a minute.
  • Then Add the water and milk.
  • Allow it to cook, by stirring in between.
  • Allow the rice and dal to cook very nicely.
  • In a kadai add the sugar and add little water.
  • When it comes to one string consistency switch off the flame.
  • Transfer the sugar syrup to the cooked rice and moong dal .
  • Add ghee and the fried cashew nuts, elachi powder and mix well.

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams Raw Rice        
  • 50 grams Moong Dal      
  • 600 ml Milk        
  • 200 grams Sugar              
  • 3 tablespoons Ghee      
  • 25 grams Cashew Nuts 
  • A Pinch Elachi Powder
