SEEDAI

Makes :
2 cups

Preparation Time :
2 hours

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Soak the rice in water for 2 hours.
  • Drain well and spread it on a kitchen towel.
  • Grind the rice to make a powder. Sieve the flour.
  • Heat a pan and fry the flour in medium flame for a minute.
  • Sieve the urad dal flour and Fry for a while.
  • Fry the grated coconut slightly.
  • In a bowl, Mix rice flour, urad flour, grated coconut, sesame seeds, ghee, asafoetida and salt well. Add water and make it to a soft pliable dough.
  • Make Small balls out of the dough. Keep it in kitchen towel for 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and Deep fry the seedais in medium flame.
  • Remove from the oil and keep it in a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil.

INGREDIENTS

  • 200 grams Raw rice
  • 2 tablespoon Urad dal flour         
  • 4 tablespoon Ghee/butter            
  • 2 teaspoon Sesame seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon Asafoetida  
  • Salt to taste
  • IDHAYAM MANTRA Peanut Oil for deep frying
  • 3 tablespoon Grated coconut
