MEDHU VADAI

Quick, tasty, satisfying. Medhu Vadai is a mix of Indian spices that combined with Gram becomes a unique and special Dal snack. Another specialty Snack for your culinary success.

30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  •  Wash and soak the Urad Dal properly for a ½ hour.
  •  Then grind it into a fine paste. Add the Asafoetida, the Salt, the Curry Leaves and the Crushed Peppercorns to the Batter and mix very well.
  •  After that, heat up the Peanut Oil in a Kadai. Wet your palms and take the batter into your palms. You can now shape it into balls. With your thumb, make a hole in the centre of the balls.
  •  Now you can deep-fry in medium hot oil until these look golden brown and become crisp.
  • For a good taste, serve hot with Sambhar and with Coconut Chutney. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 grams Whole Black Gram, De- Hulled (Urad Dal)
  • 1 teaspoon of Crushed Black Peppercorns
  • ¾ teaspoon of Asafoetida
  • 10-12 Curry Leaves
  • 300 ml Peanut Oil
  • Salt to taste as desired
