JALEBI

Preparation Method :

  • In a bowl, Mix maida and water to make a smooth batter.
  • Cover and keep aside for 20 Hours.
  • Add food colour and two tablespoons of maida and beat the batter in your hands for ten minutes.
  • Heat a pan, add sugar and water, stirring continuously, till the sugar dissolves.
  • Add milk and cardamom powder and cook the syrup till turns thick consistency.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Pour the batter in a steady stream into the kadai to form coils. Make a few at a time.
  • Deep fry them until they are golden and crisp all over but not brown.
  • Remove from the kadai and drain on kitchen paper and immerse in the syrup.
  • Leave for at least 5 minutes so that they soak the syrup.
  • Take the jalebi out of syrup and serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 400 grams Maida             
  • A pinch of Orange food colour    
  • 450 grams Sugar              
  • 1 tablespoon Milk            
  • ½ teaspoon Green cardamom powder     
  • 500 ml IDHAYAM Mantra Peanut oil
