CARROT HALWA

1 hour 20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Put the milk in a heavy-based pan, simmer for about 10-12 minutes.
  • Add the carrots and raisins, cook for an hour or until the milk has dried off.
  • Keep stirring and make sure that the milk doesn't stick to the bottom and burning.
  • Stir in the sugar and cashew nuts, mix thoroughly and cook for another 10-15 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved and until the mixture comes together.
  • Serve at room temperature.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams carrots, peeled and grated
  • 1 tablespoon raisins
  • 1 litre semi-skimmed milk    
  • Sugar to taste
  • 25 grams cashew nuts, dry-roasted and halved
