MURUKKU

Preparation Method :

  • Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
  • Strain the rice and Spread it on a paper to dry.
  • Heat the kadai without oil and fry the urad dhal to a very light brown.
  • Grind the rice and urad dhal to a fine powder.
  • Take a broad bowl. Put in the powdered rice and urad dhal, salt, gingelly seeds, Carom Seeds/Omam and butter. 
  • Mix well. Heat a kadai with oil.
  • Place a multi mini dots shapped shaped disc in the murukku press, grease the insides of the mold, fill the mold with some of the prepared dough.
  • Press the murukku press onto the hot oil.
  • Fry till the murukkus get light brown in color.
  • Take the murukkus out and keep them on a kitchen tissue to absorb the excess oil.
  • Store in an airtight container and use.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Raw rice
  • 100 grams Urad dhal
  • 2 teaspoons Omam / Carom Seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • Salt
  • 500 ml IDHAYAM MANTRA Peanut Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Gingelly seeds
