MASOOR DAL WITH VEGETABLES

Preparation Time :
30 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat oil in a large pan , add onions and fry till light brown.
  • Add vegetables and cloves . Cook for at least 2 minutes.
  • Add in the dal, salt, turmeric and measured water and cook for 10 -15 minutes or until the dal and vegetables is cooked. Remove from fire immediately.
  • Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Reduce flame.
  • Fry cumin seeds till it turns golden brown. Do not burn them.
  • Add in coriander powder, amchur and garam masala. Cook for 20 seconds.
  • Remove from fire and add red chilli powder and coriander leaves. Mix well for 2 seconds.
  • Pour over the hot cooked dal. Mix gently.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams masoor dal , soaked 
  • 1 onion cut into rings
  • 1 carrot, thin finger- batons
  • ¼ of a small cauliflower, cut into small florets
  • 3 cloves 
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • 750 ml water 
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Ingredients for Jeera Dhania Baghar 

  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds 
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala 
  • ½ teaspoon coriander powder
  • Pinch of amchur powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
