DHAL BALL FRY

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Roast and soak the dhal for 15 minutes. Grind the dhal. Don't add water while grinding.
  • Add onion, chillies, cumin seeds, curry leaves and salt to taste.
  • Make the dough into small balls or cubes and steam them for five minutes in a idly cooker.
  • Open and cool them.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add 30 ml of water with garam masala, chilli powder, dhania , cumin, turmeric  powder and salt. Allow it to boil.
  • When the oil separates, add the balls to this, and saute for 4 minutes.
  • Add 4 teaspoon of coarsely powdered sesame seeds.
  • After one minute, remove them from fire.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 30 ml Cooking oil
  • 50 grams Moong Dhal
  • 1 Medium sized Grated Onion
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 4 Chillies
  • Few Curry leaves

For Roasting & powdering

  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Dhania 
  • 20 grams sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoon Chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Salt to taste
